Back in the early 1950's the city of Anaheim was a quiet little sleepy town which consisted of not much more than acre's upon acre's of orange groves. Then a man named Walt Disney Had a dream. A dream to build a great little park called Disneyland. His original concept was for a small 8 acre park to be built for his Employee's, family, and friend's by his studio's in Burbank, California. Yet after his plans changed his dream only got bigger. He would decide to open his park to the public too. Then as he realized he would need more land for his Magical little park he then bought over 160 acre's of orange groves. Then in 1954 he set out in building his dream. Then by opening day the total cost of what had been done was a total of $17 million dollars. Then finally on July 17, 1955 Disneyland opened. Then only 7 years later Walt would want to open a new park, but the question was where? So Walt and his brother Roy would decide the best place would be in Florida because he could get alot of land for a good price and he would have the luxury of putting more than one park in. Then on November 16, 1965 Walt, His brother Roy, and the State Governer Haydon Burns would publicly announce that Walt and his brother had bought about 27,000 acres (now over 30,000 acres) for newer and bigger better parks for the Disney company which would have an estimated cost of $100 million which was a total cost of $400 million dollars at the time of completion. Then there was a concern that Walt Disney World would not be built after Walt's death on December 15, 1966. Yet they were wrong when Disney World Finally opened on October 25, 1971. Then Soon to Follow the famous Epcot park opened.

Why is the castle so small at Disneyland Park compared to the one at The Magic Kingdom? Well the original castle design was to be about as tall as the one at The Magic Kingdom Park. It was to have more giant towers, more spires, and more buildings around the base of the castle, but Walt had to down size the castle because of the location of the air port and becuase of the time of construction (they would'nt allow him to build it as high as he wanted). People were affraid that planes would run into the castle if it were to tall.

One cool thing about Cinderellas Castle at The Magic Kingdom park is you can take a tour and go inside of the castle as to Sleeping Beautys Castle in Disneyland park you can only take a small tour of the story of Sleeping Beauty. When Walt built Sleeping Beautys Castle he didnt think people would be intrested in going into the castle. Yet when they built Cinderellas Castle they found out that was wrong and changed that and decided to make it possible for people to go into the castle and walk through it.
